"I have been really thrilled with your services and how my staff has taken to our "new office." Having you work with my practice has been one of the most stimulating and rewarding periods of my twenty-five years of practice. You have helped me, as well as each one of my staff members, to grow professionally and enjoy our time together. Not only has my gross increased and my accounts receivable halved, but also my daily enjoyment of dentistry has been greatly enhanced."

Consulting Services
Welcome to your personal resource for dental management consulting. As a dentist, you are a leader to your team and your community. Where can leaders turn for guidance? To other leaders! With dental consulting services from Linda Miles & Associates, your leadership – and your practice – will flourish. Our business is making your business succeed.
We are keenly aware of the fact that anyone with a dental management background can teach dental systems efficiency. Having a consultant who measures strengths and weaknesses of each person and each system is key to creating consistency and follow through. Without measuring results after outlining expectations, training does not last. Creating accountability and motivation in team members so that they willingly complete each task, rather than needing constant management by the dentist who has to ask for results, creates a positive work place.
There's not one single reason why you should become a LLM&A client or invest in LLM&A's practice and dental team development seminars and products… there are twelve!
- If you and your dental team go home tired and stressed at the end days that are NOT engineered correctly, or if you have a reoccurrence of days that looked pretty good, but fall apart in the middle - then someone has to quickly resurrect the day...
- If you dread going to the office some days and have lost the excitement and passion about your career, your co-workers, and dentistry in general…
- If your overhead is higher than 55 to 65%, yet you seem to work harder every year...
- If your employees do not share your vision, and you feel as if you are on one team and they have their own agenda… If they have lost their "attitude of gratitude" for all the practice does for them… If you experience third-grade pettiness and jealousy among the team members…
- If your patients are spoiled (deciding when they can come, how much they will pay, and how dare you not take my insurance), or if they are noncompliant, rude, and don't seem to appreciate you, your team, your dentistry or your fees…
- If your accounts receivables are higher than half of a months' production, or if you have 90- plus days of outstanding accounts on your aged analysis report greater than 4%... If you have dental business staff who fail to make past-due collection calls to patients and/or insurance companies, or they don't know how to enthusiastically discuss patient financial options and support your fees…
- If communication skills in your office are poor to non-existent… We have dozens of suggestions and outlines of proper verbal skills for improving the communication from dentist to dentist in multi-doctor practices and front-to-back employee communication (so both parts of the practice work in tandem). We will show you how to evoke dynamite communication from every team member, to each patient, throughout each phase of a visit.
- If your new patient numbers are low and you are losing more patients per month than you are bringing in… If your patient retention is poor (typically, there's another practice within each practice of patients who have been seen but are not in active recall)… We have just the right scripts to make patient reactivation a successful and fun project instead of a dreaded task!
- If you have more patients than you can physically care for… The healthy number of active charts is 1500 to 2500 per dentist. Being too busy is as detrimental to your practice's health (as well as your own) as not being busy enough. We teach our clients how to streamline their practice work model to maximize production while minimizing stress.
- If hiring, training, and retaining great employees is difficult for you… We will not only leave you with the tools for a proper employee selection process, but we will also equip you with the knowledge of how to train new employees quickly, how to keep the team totally motivated and accountable, and most of all, how to be the best employer, a true leader in dentistry! Good people find and retain good people. We believe this is one of the key elements for long-term success.
- If staff compensation issues keep you awake at night... Our clients have learned how to be fair and equitable to all employees, but also how to be fair to the practice and the owner(s) at the same time. Throwing out more benefits and more money when there's a problem is not only dangerous, but it does not gain any respect for Dr. Nice Guy or Dr. Nice Gal. Being held hostage in one's own business is NOT a good feeling. At Linda Miles & Associates, we believe raises and better benefits must be earned, not just expected. Interestingly, many of our consultation referrals come from dental team members who move from one state to another. They too appreciate our fairness in dealing with practice guidelines and respect/rewards for all.
- If your hygiene department is not in the 21st Century… We are dental management consultants who focus on the management of your practice, including the hygiene department (which we feel is the backbone of every practice). When hygiene is healthy, the entire practice becomes healthier. When we find hygiene departments still practicing in the 80s model of preventive care, or when hygiene (excluding doctor exams) is not 1/3 of the total production, we evaluate the need for a specialist (hygiene consultant) who teaches the 21st Century model. From within the Speaking Consulting Network, we have not one or two, but a dozen qualified hygiene consultants refer our clients to. Magic things happen when the hygienist who trained 20 or 30 years ago meets and works with these specialists. Your patients can receive up-to-date ideal care, productivity increases dramatically, and hygienists report feeling "born again," as one RDH described it.
